a ReSource renewal retreat [for clergy and lay (authorised/licensed) ministers]
Small is beautiful in the kingdom of God, and this retreat is particularly for those seeking spiritual renewal in what ReSource (www.resource-arm.net) often calls ‘little, local, ordinary’ churches. Our time together will include: a variety of sung worship, liturgical and open prayer, Biblical teaching, and plenty of space for personal reflection. We will seek the presence, guidance and inspiration of the Holy Spirit, with the aim that participants will leave refreshed and renewed. (Chelmsford Diocesan Clergy & LLMs may apply to use their CMD grants)
Garrie and Jill were both born in Cheshire and met and married young. Garrie was ordained at the tender age of 23 and, following a year in the Diocese of the Arctic (Canada), they settled into ministry in England, serving in Cheshire, Shropshire, Suffolk and Derbyshire. Jill spent her time looking after their two sons, teaching flute and piano part-time, and helping out in the parish with music and home groups. One parish priest sums them up, “Garrie and Jill Griffiths ministered to us gently and powerfully, through words and music, song and silence, inviting us to ‘Come close to God’.” Garrie’s early retirement prompted a move to Suffolk. He and Jill regularly help out at their local church in Woodbridge. Jill still teaches part-time and they both volunteer with the National Trust. They enjoy walking by the creeks, rivers and coast.
