An exploration of Advent as a season for hope, commitment and transformation building on some of the traditional Advent themes.

We shall use scripture, rooted in the great Advent themes and some of the great Advent prayers to shape our reflections on how the season of Advent gives us space to wait upon God with expectation and be ready for joyful action.

Chris Burke is the Archdeacon of Barking, having previously served in parishes in the North East, in the East End of London and in Sheffield Cathedral. He has a longstanding interest in the inter connection between our worship and our activity in mission.
